Product details

  • Water-based cross-linking polyurethane; clear, hard-wearing and non-yellowing.
  • Coverage: approximately 15–20 m² per litre, depending on surface porosity.
  • Touch dry: 45+ minutes. Recoat: 2 hours. Full cure: 16 hours at 20°C.
  • Apply 2–3 thin coats using a synthetic varnish brush, roller or spray.
  • Suitable for interior wood, furniture, flooring, concrete, slate and flagstones.
  • Water, stain, heat, chemical and abrasion resistance; high UV protection.
  • Listed by Polyvine as food and child safe; the technical sheet also references relevant food-contact and toy-safety standards.

Preparation and application

Remove old finishes, dust, dirt, oil, resin, wax and grease. Sand with the grain and clean thoroughly. Mix well by gently inverting the container; do not shake. Apply thin coats. On new softwood or porous surfaces, dilute the first coat with 10% water. Lightly sand between coats if the grain rises. For a durable Dead Flat finish, apply two coats of Satin followed by one coat of Dead Flat. Polyvine recommends three Satin coats followed by a final Dead Flat coat for full UV protection. Apply Dead Flat sparingly and brush out well to avoid misting.

Important information

Always test on a small area and check compatibility first. Do not apply over uncured oil paint. Do not continuously submerge the finish in water. Appearance varies with the substrate and number of coats; spills should be removed promptly. Protect from temperature extremes and store sealed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid eye contact; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with warm water. Clean tools with soap and water before the varnish dries. Do not pour leftovers into drains.
